Two Shot in High School Parking Lot
At approximately 12:02 p.m., officers were called to George Wythe High School, located at 4314 Crutchfield Street, for the report of shots fired. Officers arrived and found a juvenile male in the woods off the campus of the school. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was considered life threatening.
Officers then received a report of another juvenile male who had been transported by personal vehicle to a local hospital with an apparent gunshot wound. The injury was not considered life threatening.
Detectives are investigating and have determined the shootings occurred in the parking lot of the school. Both victims have been identified as students at the school, but at this time, detectives do not know if the males were in the school at some point today prior to the shooting. Detectives have not released information at this time regarding circumstances or motive.
